About The Wassce

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is a standardized test taken in west Africa  by students who wish to proceed to the higher institution .It is administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It is only offered to candidates residing in Anglophone West African countries such as : Ghana,Gambia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
However, students from Nigeria need to take another standardized test called Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in other to gain an admission into tertiary institutions.
The WASSCE is taken 2 times yearly. That is in the months of  November-December and May -June. The May/June exam was  formerly known to be the SSCE, and the November/December exam was formally known to be GCE. The May-June exams are normally taken by students still in public or private high schools(they usually wear uniforms).
